Patient information
Patients are seen by Residents (graduate dental students) under the supervision of faculty who are certified prosthodontists. Fees are typically about 30% less than in Faculty Practice or private practice. Demand is high, so a waiting list may be required.
Additional clinics
The Restorative Dental Sciences department offers patient care in three additional clinics:
D.M.D. Student Dental Clinic
Patients are seen by student dentists of junior and senior standing, under faculty supervision. Fees are typically 30 to 50 percent less than in private practice.
Faculty Practice
Clinic Patients are seen by College of Dentistry faculty members. Fees are comparable to private practice.
Patients may be referred to faculty practice dentists by a licensed physician or dentist. All types of general and specialty treatment are available. Demand is high, so not all patients can be accepted.
Maxillofacial Prosthetic Services
Patients are seen by maxillofacial prosthodontists Drs. Turner and Wong and anaplastologist Mr. Mann.
This service works in collaboration with oral surgeons and Shands head and neck cancer surgery.
Maxillofacial specialists restore defects resulting from trauma, cancer or congenital factors with prosthetic devices (artificial palates, ears, eyes, noses, etc.)
Frequently asked questions
Is dental care free at the College of Dentistry?
No. Even though the University of Florida College of Dentistry is state-funded, there are fees for procedures. This is not a free clinic. However, being seen by a resident or D.M.D. student dentist is considerably less expensive than private practice.

Do the clinics accept insurance?
The D.M.D. and graduate clinics do not file any type of insurance. Patients are, however, encouraged to file on their own for reimbursement. Faculty Practice has a Financial Counselor who is available to answer billing questions for that area. Please call (352) 273-7950 for assistance. There are a lot of clinics.

Reduced-fee dental care
UF College of Dentistry students and faculty participate in programs such as the We Care Physicians Network (352) 334-7926.Such programs provide limited services for qualified individuals that may be reduced in fees.

Costs, billing, and insurance
We honor all major credit cards, checks and cash for dental payment. If you'd like to pay your bill online, . UF employees and their families can pay for their dental care through payroll deduction. Please have your billing statement along with your debit/credit card or bank account information. Your account number is located in the top righthand corner of your statement.
