My bio
Michol A. Cooper, MD, PhD, is an associate professor, multimission track, in the division of vascular surgery and endovascular therapy at the University of Florida College of Medicine.
Dr. Cooper earned her undergraduate degree from The Ohio State University, where she completed her studies as the youngest graduate in her class at the age of 17. She then went on to complete her master鈥檚 of science degree and doctorate degree in biomedical engineering from the University of Michigan, where her research team was among the pioneers in the use of high-intensity focused ultrasound for treatment of soft tissue tumors. After completing her PhD, she earned her medical degree from the University of Cincinnati. She then completed general surgery residency at The Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore, where she also served as chief resident. Subsequently, she completed a vascular surgery fellowship at the Massachusetts General Hospital/Harvard University.
Dr. Cooper is board-certified in general surgery and vascular surgery through the American Board of Surgery. She has contributed to over 20 research publications covering topics, including robotic surgery, patient perceptions and tissue damage. She has also contributed to several books, book chapters and presentations.
