Pediatric Emergency Doctor
Dr. Holland joined the UF Department of Emergency Medicine as the Physician Director of Quality in 2012. A long-time member of the Gator Nation, she completed both her Bachelor of Science and Master of Education degrees at the University of Florida. She spent six years in the workforce as a high school biology teacher and later as a college administrator in Florida and Indiana. She then returned to medical school, earning her medical degree at Eastern Virginia Medical School in Norfolk, Va. Following medical school, she completed her emergency medicine residency at the University of Cincinnati and remained in Ohio to complete a three-year pediatric emergency medicine fellowship at Cincinnati Children鈥檚 Hospital Medical Center. After her training, she remained on the faculty at the University of Cincinnati with a dual academic appointment in the departments of pediatrics and emergency medicine.
Dr. Holland divides her clinical time between both the pediatric and adult emergency departments. Her administrative and research interests focus on quality improvement/patient safety and resident education. Since her arrival at BOB体育, she has revamped the peer review process, developed a comprehensive QI/Pt Safety curriculum for the residency program, and incorporated transparency and the 鈥渏ust culture鈥� model into the patient safety reporting process in both the pediatric and adult emergency departments.
Dr. Holland was named the Department of Emergency Medicine Vice Chair of Quality and Safety in 2023. In addition to her duties as Vice Chair, she currently serves as the medical director for the Pediatric Emergency Department and Chief of the Division of Pediatric Emergency Medicine.
