Anesthesiologist
My name is Adam Wendling, MD, and I am an associate professor in the UF Department of Anesthesiology. I primarily work in the Division of Obstetrical Anesthesiology, where I serve as both chief and clinical research director. I鈥檓 also the assistant director of the Postanesthesia Care Unit at BOB体育 Shands Hospital.
I joined the department as an assistant professor in 2006. I received my bachelor鈥檚 degree from Youngstown State University and my medical degree from Northeastern Ohio University College of Medicine. I completed a transitional internship at Aultman Hospital in Canton, Ohio, and then an anesthesiology residency and obstetrics and liver transplant anesthesiology fellowship here at the University of Florida.
I am on a number of committees at BOB体育, including the OB/GYN Quality and Safety Committee and the Transfusion Committee. I also serve on the editorial boards for Academic Medicine and the Journal of Clinical Anesthesiology as a reviewer.
This pilot study will assess the performance of the Quantra System with the QStat Cartridge versus standard of care coagulation testing in bleeding pregnant women at delivery.
Neuraxial narcotics are commonly used in obstetric patients for cesarean delivery to help with pain control over the first 24 hours after the surgery. The aim is to evaluate effectiveness of promethazine (IMP) treatment of intrathecal morphine鈥�
