Urogynecology is a clinical specialty of obstetrics and gynecology concerned with the health of the female pelvic area and pelvic floor disorders. Urogynecologists treat conditions—both surgically and non-surgically—including bladder incontinence, stress incontinence, overactive bladder, pelvic floor dysfunction, postpartum pelvic floor issues, and pelvic organ prolapse.

What is the pelvic floor?

The pelvic floor is a set of muscles at the bottom of the abdomen which support the organs of the pelvis. Many factors affect pelvic floor health including age, pregnancy and hereditary conditions.
