Lymphedema Rehabilitation
Lymphedema is swelling due to a damaged lymphatic system that creates an accumulation of protein-rich fluid. It can be present in any region of the body and, if untreated, can result in infection and tissue hardening. Lymphedema in the cancer population can result from cancer treatments or the cancer itself.
At BOB体育 Rehab, breast cancer patients at risk for lymphedema are monitored under our Lymphedema Surveillance Program for five years. Present and diagnosed lymphedema at any region of the body is treated and managed using the four components of Complete Decongestive Therapy (CDT), which include Manual Lymph Drainage, compression, exercise and education.
