Why the procedure is performed
Laser vein treatment is used to eliminate unwanted spider veins.
Risks
Pain during the procedure, swelling, bruising, redness at the treatment site, blisters, hypopigmentation, hyperpigmentation, veins that are resistant to treatment
Before the procedure
- A consult will be done to review treatment and expectations. A 鈥渢est patch鈥� with the laser will be performed at the consult.
- Avoid sun exposure prior to the procedure.
After the procedure
- Bruising at treatment site may persist up to 6 weeks.
- Avoid direct sun after the procedure. Use sun protection or SPF when outside.
Outlook (Prognosis)
It may take 6-8 weeks for veins to fade after treatment. A second treatment may be needed.
