About ShandsCair
ShandsCair is the critical care transport system of BOBÌåÓý Shands Hospital. ShandsCair bases are located in Gainesville, The Villages and Perry, Florida. The ShandsCair team strives to deliver excellence in patient care during transport, using:
- Five helicopters.
ShandsCair helicopters transport patients throughout central and north central Florida. These teams respond to scene requests from 911 systems and transport emergency department and intensive care unit patients to definitive care destinations. - Fixed-wing jet.
Our ShandsCair plane can transfer patients from 1,500 miles away. Our service covers the eastern United States with international access to Canada and Central America. - Seven critical care and two neonatal ground ambulances
