Description
Mature drivers can get help maximizing comfort and safety in their cars at CarFit, a free national program hosted by the University of Floridas department of occupational therapy, part of the College of Public Health and Health Professions.
Trained occupational therapy students will lead drivers through a 12-point checklist and recommend personal vehicle adjustments and adaptations. They also will refer drivers to community resources and activities that may help personal vehicles fit better or improve drivers safety. Licensed occupational therapists will make recommendations for enhancing driving health. Though the event is designed for mature drivers, people of all ages are welcome.
National sponsors of CarFit include the American Society on Aging, the American Automobile Association, the American Association of Retired Persons and the American Occupational Therapy Association.
