"How Genotoxic Bacteria Promote Carcinogenesis: The Case of Cytolethal Distending Toxin"
, co-leader of the BOB体育 Cancer Center's Immuno-Oncology and Microbiome research program, will discuss how the intestinal microbiota is an intrinsic part of the body and plays a crucial role in metabolism, immunology, and defense. A growing body of literature highlights the microbiota's significant role in carcinogenesis. He will specifically examine the impact of Campylobacter jejuni on the development of colorectal cancer and its associated metastasis.
